The Process
During the 6-week program, I utilize gentle NeuroMovement® techniques tailored to your child's individual needs. The program begins with an intensive first week, featuring 5-6 sessions to establish a strong foundation. For the remaining five weeks, a custom plan is created based on your child's neurological challenges. These lessons engage their curiosity and promote neuroplasticity through exploration and movement variations, leading to meaningful growth over time.
The 6-week commitment is crucial for:
Building Momentum: Regular lessons build upon each other, reinforcing new skills and connections.
Tracking Progress: Continuous assessments allow us to adjust strategies and celebrate milestones.
Creating Lasting Change: Children will develop a foundation that supports their ongoing learning and development.
Through engaging interactions and movement variations, we harness the power of the brain's natural ability to learn and adapt, fostering a supportive and dynamic environment where your child can thrive.
Unlocking Potential: The Nine Essentials
NeuroMovement® for Neurodiverse Children
Essential 1: Movement with Attention
Movement is Life
Movement serves as the brain’s primary language. By consciously engaging in movement and focusing on the sensations it creates, children can stimulate the formation of new neural connections. This practice fosters transformation and opens up a world of possibilities.
Essential 2: Slow
Embrace the Power of Slowness
Moving slowly allows the brain to engage more deeply and create rich neural pathways. By decelerating our actions, we not only master new skills but also learn to overcome challenges that seem insurmountable. Taking time to explore movements leads to profound growth.
Essential 3: Variation
Playful Exploration
At the core of learning is the concept of variation. Embracing play and experimentation among diverse movements encourages creativity and flexibility in thought and action. This exploration enables the brain to forge fresh connections, leading to innovative outcomes.
Essential 4: Subtlety
The Art of Gentle Movement
Reducing the intensity of movements cultivates sensitivity and enhances the brain's ability to detect nuances. This approach fosters a greater understanding of one's own body and emotions, ultimately enriching the learning experience.
Essential 5: Enthusiasm
Cultivating Joy and Appreciation
Enthusiasm isn’t just a feeling; it’s a skill that can be nurtured. By choosing to focus on the small joys in life, children amplify their engagement with learning. This burst of positivity helps solidify new knowledge and makes the journey enjoyable.
Essential 6: Flexible Goals
Navigating the Journey
On our path to achieving goals, unexpected twists and turns can lead to valuable insights. Embracing flexibility allows children to learn from missteps and discover their own unique routes toward success, reinforcing resilience and adaptability.
Essential 7: The Learning Switch
Igniting Interest and Curiosity
The brain operates in cycles of learning, and various factors can influence its readiness. When children feel relaxed and engaged, their “learning switch” is turned on. This openness transforms life into a thrilling adventure filled with opportunities for discovery.
Essential 8: Imagination & Dreams
Creating New Realities
Imagination opens doors to uncharted territories, enabling children to envision and strive for possibilities beyond their current limitations. Dreams can inspire and guide them from within, elevating their aspirations and heights of achievement.
Essential 9: Awareness
Awareness as the Foundation of Learning
Awareness is an active process that enhances the learning experience. By being fully present, children can tap into their highest cognitive abilities, fostering a deeper connection to their learning journey and unlocking their fullest potential.
